SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's soccer team lost a tight 2-1 Liberty League contest to Vassar College Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field. The Thoroughbreds are now 4-2-3 and 0-2-1 in league play, while the Brewers improve to 6-2-2 and 1-0-2.

** Noelle Namba put a header past Skidmore goalie
Claire Wolgast just 3:10 into the game for a quick 1-0 Vassar lead. The Brewers extended the advantage to 2-0 on Lucy Getzin's goal at 42:05.
** The Thoroughbreds battled back in the second half when
Ella Stone headed home her third goal of the season from
Ashley Downes at 49:24.
** Skidmore pushed the attack the rest of the way, but the Brewers held on for the 2-1 win.
** A narrow 13-9 shot and 5-4 corner edge kept the Thoroughbreds in the game.
** Wolgast finished with three saves.
** UP NEXT: Skidmore travles to Hartwick for a non-league game Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. The game starts a four-game road swing for the Thoroughbreds.
