Thoroughbreds breeze past Drew to NCAA Regional Final

MIDDLEBURY, Vt.—The Skidmore College women's tennis team advanced in the NCAA Division III tournament with a 5-1 win over Drew University. The 28th ranked Thoroughbreds will take on host and fourth ranked Middlebury College in the Regional Final on Sunday at 12 p.m.
  • Skidmore moves to 13-7, while the Rangers had their 10-match win streak snapped to end the season with a 19-3 record.
  • Middlebury (15-3) easily beat Lebanon Valley 5-0 to advance to the Regional Final. The Panthers are looking to win their 10th regional title.
  • The Thoroughbreds went 2-1 in doubles for the early edge. Beilynn Geiss and Konika Dhull picked up the first win, 8-2 over Courtney Bresler and Danielle Delrosso. Ella Provost and Grace Truong had the other doubles win at number two 8-2 against Melina Christodoulou and Sanne Bloemendaal.
  • It was all Skidmore in singles. Provost won first at number five, 6-1, 6-0 against Natalla Zamora. Katherine Almquist made it 4-1 with her 6-0, 6-0 win at number three over Mary Kalorin. Geiss clinched at number six, 6-0, 6-0 against Delrosso.
  • This is Skidmore's first third-round appearance since 2021 when the entire tournament was played in one location. The team's last regional final was in 2018 at Middlebury. The Panthers won 5-1.
