Blanck named Liberty League’s final Performer of the Week

TROY, N.Y. – After Skidmore's postseason run came to an end in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament against Tufts, junior Julia Blanck was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week for the week ending March 5.

In the two tournament games, Blanck dominated both ends of the floor. She averaged 14.5 points with 16.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, and 2.5 assists.

She went for a season-high 20 points to lead Skidmore to a dramatic comeback win over Johns Hopkins in the first round on Friday. She also pulled down 13 rebounds to achieve the double-double with a huge late block, one assist, and one steal. Against host Tufts on Saturday, Blanck scored nine points and had 19 rebounds, which included five offensive boards, with four assists and five blocks. She led the charge in Skidmore's second-half comeback bid, which ultimately fell just short.

Blanck averaged 8.7 points and 9.8 rebounds in her junior year. The Thoroughbreds won a program record 23 games in 2022-23 and advanced past the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
