SARATOGA SPRINGS. N.Y.—The Skidmore College field hockey gave #14 SUNY Cortland all it could handle before dropping a 3-2 decision Saturday afternoon at Wagner Park. Skidmore ends the season at 7-10, while the Red Dragons have won six straight for a 15-1 record.

** The Thoroughbreds weren't intimidated by the SUNYAC regular season champions.
Abby Ezickson converted a long pass from
Kayla Hassett for her 10
th goal of the season at 12:09. It was the first-time this season Cortland's defense had given up a first quarter or first half goal.
** Skidmore goalie
Victoria Bodnar turned away several early Red Dragon scoring attempts early in the second quarter. Cortland finally solved the Thoroughbred keeper at 20:05 when Gianna Trunfio scored at 20:05 from Hanna Corrigan. The Red Dragons went in front 2-1 on Corrigan's seventh goal of the season from Jamie Snyder at 22:27.
** Skidmore battled back to tie it when Ezickson blew past four Cortland defenders then rattled the cage for her 11
th goal of the season at 24:44. As was the case in the first quarter, It was the first time this season the Red Dragons have allowed a second-quarter goal.
** The game stayed even until Skidmore found itself down two players late in the fourth quarter. Corrigan capitalized on the advantage for the game-winner at 53:08.
** Cortland had a 23-8 shot and 10-6 corner edge. Bodnar played one her best career games with 14 saves, including eight in the second quarter. The 14 stops ties her career-high set early this season in a shoot-out loss to Ithaca.
