PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's soccer team surrendered an 81
st-minute goal and ran out of time in a 1-0 loss to Plattsburgh on the road on Sunday.
- Skidmore drops to 1-1 on the young season after a 4-0 victory at home on Saturday.
- Plattsburgh is 3-0 and has yet to allow a goal against.
- Samantha Rachon scored the goal for the cardinals with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game.
- Plattsburgh's game-winning goal came off a corner, when Allison Seidman deflected off a Thoroughbred defender and to Rachon, who scored from the top of the box.
- Junior Claire Wolgast had four saves in goal for Skidmore in the first half, including an above-average effort for a save in the 39th minute to keep it scoreless.
- First year Avery Rogers played the second half in goal for Skidmore and made one save.
- Shots finished 13-12 for the hosts. Junior Kyra Russman-Araya led Skidmore with four shots.
- Julia Ennis made four saves for the Cardinals in the shutout.
- Plattsburgh had seven corner kicks against just two for Skidmore.
