MIDDLEBURY, Vt.—The Skidmore College golf team shot an opening round 305 in the 38^th Duke Nelson Invitational being played on at the Par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course at Middlebury College. The Thoroughbreds are tied with Hamilton College, one stroke behind Bowdoin and New York University. The event concludes with a final round on Sunday.
 

• Host Middlebury (293) leads the 24-team event. St. Lawrence (299) is second. Trinity and Rensselaer (301) are tied for third and Babson (302) is fifth.
• Evan Forrest is leading the Thoroughbreds with a 73. He's tied for sixth after ringing up four birdies. Isaac Slater and Jack Walsh are tied for 22^nd at 76. Corey Crater is tied for 62^nd ta 80 and Sean Hurley is tied for 74^th with 81.
• There are 124 players competing. RPI's Joey Harrigan is one of four players tied for first with 71.
