SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College softball team took two from RIT 5-4, 5-1 to clinch the fourth-seed in the Liberty League championships May 5-7 at the University of Rochester. The Thoroughbreds will play the host school on May 5 at a 12 p.m. Ithaca College and Rensselaer will face off in the other contest at 3 p.m. in the double elimination tournament.

Skidmore finishes the regular season with a program record 24 wins. The team's 24-12 record surpasses the previous mark set in 2010 when the Thoroughbreds were 23-14. The team will be making its sixth league tournament appearance and first since the 2017 season.

GAME 1
- The Thoroughbreds shook off a Tiger comeback to pull out the win in the seventh inning. Down 3-2, RIT scored two runs in the top of the seventh for a 4-3 lead. With one out, Megan White drew a walk, then Meghan Robertson singled on an 0-2 pitch. Katie Anderson singled a 3-2 pitch to center field to plate White, both players moved up a base on the attempt to get White at home. Kaitlyn Judd then hit a ball deep to right for the walk-off sacrifice fly.
- Lindsey Raimondi worked her way out of trouble a few times to up her record to 11-5 with the complete game win. The allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.
- Anderson was 3-4 with a double and RBI. Judd finished 1-3 with a double and two RBI. White as 1-3 with two runs, a double, a stolen base, and an RBI.Â
GAME 2
- Skidmore spotted RIT a run in the top of the first inning, but that was it as the Thoroughbreds scored two in the third and fourth and one in the sixth. Hannah Davis shut the Tigers down after that first run, finishing the game with six scoreless innings.
- Judd got Skidmore on the board with a two-run double in the third. White and Robertson had RBI singles in the fourth. Robertson closed out the scoring with an RBI single in the sixth.
- White was 3-4 with two doubles, two runs, a stolen base and an RBI. She extended her on-base streak to 26 games.
- Kate Wilkie went 3-3 with a double and run, while Judd was 1-3 with two RBI. Robertson finished 2-3 with two RBI and Chloe McGonagle was 2-3.
- Davis moved to 12-3 with the complete game win. She allowed one run on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
