TROY, N.Y. – Skidmore College first year golfer John Guerrera was named the Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 24.
 
At the Farmingdale State College Spring Invitational played on the Bethpage Red Course, Guerrera shot a 73-71—144 to earn a tie for third place while playing as an independent. He shares Rookie of the Week honors with Kevin Kim of NYU, who also shot a 144 (+4) in the two-day event. Also tied for third was teammate Sean Hurley.
 
Guerrera led the field in par-5 scoring, posting a 4.25 tournament average and a -3 mark on the par 5s. Guerrera tallied five birdies over his two rounds while racking up 22 pars. In Sunday's second round, he had three birdies, including a three on the par-4 11^th, which was the only birdie the hole yielded all weekend while playing as the second-toughest hole on the course.
 
Skidmore will close the season in the three-day Liberty League Championship tournament this weekend at Turning Stone.
