SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College basketball teams will play their final two home games of the regular season this weekend at home. The Thoroughbreds host Rensselaer on Friday (women 5:30, men 7:30 p.m.) and Ithaca on Saturday (women 2, men 4 p.m.) for the return of the Big Green Scream as well as Senior Day.

The first 250 fans at each game will receive a free t-shirt at Saturday's Big Green Scream. There will also be in-game contests and prizes, including a smart TV giveaway. The event will feature the return of Recycle Mania.

Skidmore welcomes back outside spectators for the weekend homestand. All guests must show proof of vaccination and booster (if eligible) and are required to wear a KN95 mask.

The season closes for both teams with a five-game road swing. Skidmore will travel to Union on Feb. 8 before heading to Bard and Vassar next weekend (Feb. 11 and 12). The regular season closes Feb. 18 and 19 at St. Lawrence and Clarkson, respectively.

WOMEN

The Thoroughbreds are looking to win their third-straight game on Friday versus RPI. Skidmore enters the weekend at 11-5 overall and 6-5 in the Liberty League, tied for fourth position. On Jan. 23 in Troy, the Thoroughbreds snagged an early lead and had command of the game wire-to-wire en route to a 62-43 win.

Cassie Davidson led with 16 points and seven rebounds and
Julia Blanck had 12 points as Skidmore topped William Smith, 72-67.

Three Skidmore players average double figures in scoring on the year.
Kate McCarney leads at 11.8, Blanck sits at 11.4, and senior
Clare Driscoll averages 11.0. Blanck's 9.2 rebounds per contest leads the team and ranks fifth in the league.

RPI comes in at 3-13 overall and 2-9 in the league, while second-place Ithaca is 10-1 in the Liberty League and 15-3 overall. The Bombers defeated the Thoroughbreds at home, 64-46, on Jan. 21.

Skidmore has won its last four games and enters the weekend 6-4 in the league, alone in fourth place, and 10-6 overall. The Thoroughbreds used 30 points from
Riley Greene and
Greg Skoric's fourth consecutive double-double to beat Hobart on Tuesday, 92-84.

The Thoroughbreds fell to Ithaca, 77-71, and then 23
rd-ranked RPI, 74-59, on the road Jan. 21 and 23.

Skidmore is led offensively by
Tautvydas Kupstas with 16.8 points per game, which is good for second in the Liberty League. Skoric is at 15.9 with a league-leading 2.3 blocks per game and 12.0 rebounds per contest.
Ty Lamport (13.3), Greene (11.1) and
Harrison Eichelberger (10.4) round out Skidmore's five players averaging double figures.

The league-leading Engineers bring a 9-2 conference record and 15-3 overall line into the weekend. Meanwhile, Ithaca enters play at 11-7 overall and 7-4 in the Liberty League. The Bombers are just ahead of the Thoroughbreds in third place in league standings. Â Â
