RESULTS
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— In front of a standing room only Stable Meet crowd, the Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams executed an exciting sweep of Union College. The women won 183-100, while the men's meet came down to third place in the last event for the 148-144 win. The men are a perfect 5-0, while the women are 4-1.
- It was the first-ever win over Union for the men's team and the first win since 1987 for the women.
- The Thoroughbred men led 142-133 heading into the final event (200 free relay). Union took first and grabbed 11 points. Skidmore's "A" team was second for four points, then the Thoroughbred B team edged the Dutchmen "C" team for third by 0.01 seconds to claim two points and the win. Brendan Lu, Nic Sodi, Will Quinn, and Liam Keating were second. Kyle Heise, Nathan Randall, Brandon Lis, and Keegan Scharoun were the meet clinching third place team.
- For the women: Lizzie Day won three individual events (200 free-2:03.14), )100 free-56.23), (200 IM-2:19.45) and was on the winning 200 medley relay with Ella Palmet, Rachel Olson and Gretchen Gwitt.
- Olson won the 100 breast (1:12.39) and 500 free (5:35.18).
- Palmet won the 200 breast and was part of the 200IM that went 1-2-3, taking second in behind Day and finishing just in front of Molly Jordan.
- Gwitt was first in the 100 fly (1:02. 38) and Caroline Rogers won the 1000 free (11:32.76) and delivered key points in the 100 fly 1-2-3 finish with a third behind Gwitt and Ginny Hunt.
- Skidmore won both diving events with Sophia May winning the 1M and Kailey Murphy winning the 3M
- Ryan Delfico had another big meet with two individual wins in the 100 back (55.05) and 200 IM (2:01.46) and relay win in the 200IM with Keating, Brendan Lu, and Gavin Schiavi.
- Lu took first in the 50 free (22.42) and 100 fly (53.31), while Nic Sodi was first in the 200 free (1:49.53) and 500 free (4:56.94).
- Lis was first in the 200 back and had a great race in the 1000 free, just getting out touched for first.
- Scharoun had key second place finishes in the 100 and 200 back.

Coach Greenleaf: "Our team continues to impress me with their tenacity, grit and enthusiasm. We finished so many close races with determination. Our team is literally getting better every week and their enthusiasm is contagious. Coming off a very challenging week of training, our team stepped up and met the formidable challenge that Union obviously was today."
