Thoroughbreds tied for fourth at the Skidmore Fall Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College golf team shot a first round 306 on the par-72 Saratoga State Park Championship Course Saturday in 14-team Skidmore Fall Classic. Hamilton (294) and Rensselaer (294) are tied for first. Trinity (301) is third, with Skidmore and Williams tied for fourth. Play concludes on Sunday with players going off the first tee, from 10:20 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Skidmore will start at 12 or 12:50.
  • Sean Hurley shot an even par 72 to lead the Thoroughbreds. He's tied for fourth and had the second most birdies on the first day with five, including one on the 18th to close out the round.
  • Corey Carter is tied for 23rd with 77, one stroke ahead of Evan Forrest who is tied for 30th with 78. Cole Cusa is tied for 36th with 79 and Jack Walsh is tied for 44th with 81.
  • Playing as independents, Isaac Slater shot 77 and Tommy Carr 78. Will Tone (79) and Brady Tsourides (85) round out the Skidmore players.
  • Phillip Clifton of Williams is the individual leader with 70.
  • Liberty League rivals Rochester (307), NYU (307) and Clarkson (315) are also competing.
