Thoroughbreds tune-up for playoffs with 1-0 win over Bard

Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 1-0 Senior Day win over Bard College in Liberty League action Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field. The Thoroughbreds are 8-3-5 overall and finish with a 4-2-3 league record. The Raptors are 4-10-1 and 0-9.
  • The win puts Skidmore in third place in the final league standings. The team will host Hobart on Nov. 1 in a Liberty League at a time to be determined.
  • Kamal Ibrahim scored his 14th goal of the season off a misplayed corner in the 77th minute. The 14 goals are one off the program season record of 15 set by Andrew Simon in 2000 and the most since Simon scored 14 in 1999.
  • Skidmore outshot Bard 24-10 and had a 15-2 corner advantage.
  • Bobby Stratts stopped all seven shots he faced for his second straight and fifth shutout of the season.
  • Skidmore is 4-1-2 at home.
  • The Thoroughbreds will be playing in their sixth tournament in the past seven seasons. The team tied Ithaca in the 2021 semifinals, with the Bombers advancing on penalties.
