Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Thoroughbreds remain unbeaten at home with 0-0 tie

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's soccer team withstood everything Ithaca College could throw at it in a 0-0 Liberty League tie Friday afternoon at Wachenheim Field. The Thoroughbreds are 7-1-3 overall and 2-0-3 in league play, while the Bombers are 8-2-3 and 3-1-1.
  • Scoring chances were hard to come by throughout the match. Ithaca had an opportunity in the ninth minute off a corner. The ball came lose on the far side of the goal, but Skidmore keeper Claire Wolgast made a point blank save to keep it 0-0. Skidmore's Molly Cunningham nearly connected of a corner in the 36th minute with Claire Reader making the stop for the Bombers.
  • Ithaca had the final attack with a pair of corners as the game was ending. The second attempt came out to the top of the box, but Wolgast handled the shot with three seconds left.
  • Ithaca had an 8-5 shot-on-goal and 9-5 corner edge. Wolgast finished with eight saves, while Reader had five.
  • The win extends Skidmore's unbeaten streak to nine games (6-0-3). The team is unbeaten at home (4-0-2).
  • NEXT UP: RIT comes to Wachenhiem for a 2 p.m. conference match-up. The Tigers are 8-2-2 and 2-2-1 after 1-0 win at RPI on Friday.
