SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College field hockey team pieced together consecutive wins for the first time this season with a 3-0 win over SUNY New Paltz Thursday afternoon at Wagner Park.

The Thoroughbreds are 3-2, while the Hawks drop to 3-1.

Mariah Redler put Skidmore up 1-0 a corner at 8:49 with
Carrie Hughes earning the assist.

It stayed 1-0 until the third quarter when
Bella Faber put home a rebound off a hard shot by
Kayla Hassett at 32:27.
CC Wetter dribbled up the left side and then along the goal line before placing a perfect shot into the right side of the cage for the 3-0 lead at 39:05.

New Paltz had plenty of chances, outshooting Skidmore 11-7 and compiling a wide 9-1 corner advantage. The Thoroughbred defense responded, led by six saves from
Jess Gaetgens and a defensive corner by
Lauren Ruggiero.

Skidmore travels to Castleton University for a 2 p.m. game on Sept. 19.
