TROY, N.Y. – Liberty League commissioner Tracy King has announced that 841 fall sport student-athletes have qualified for the league's All-Academic Teams in their respective sports, marking the highest total for fall sports since the league began recognizing outstanding academic achievement. The total surpasses last fall's record number of 763 and is an increase of 211 since the fall of 2019 when 630 were recognized.

A Skidmore record 54 fall athletes were honored led by 19 women's soccer players. The previous mark of 49 was set in 2020.
The Liberty League's fall championship sports include men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and enrolled full-time with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30. The Liberty League elevated the GPA requirement from 3.20 to 3.30 in 2016-17 to follow the established standard for eligibility for CoSIDA Academic All-America awards.
"Our student-athletes returned to the playing field this fall and have continued to excel in the classroom," said King. "Despite the challenges that they've faced over the past year while adjusting to COVID-19 changes, they have continued to excel academically. I'm incredibly proud of the resilience and hard work our student-athletes continue to display."
