TROY, N.Y. – Skidmore College first-year women's tennis player Grace Truong was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 3.
 
Truong went 4-0 over the weekend at fourth singles and second doubles for the Thoroughbreds. She dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win over Nitya Subramaniam of Rensselaer. She retired Sophie Brown of Union College 6-0, 6-0 to complete the week outscoring her opponents 24-1 in singles games.
 
She also teamed up with Ella Provost to take down Lorna Flores/Krisia Flores of RPI, 8-3 before claiming a convincing 8-1 win over Sophie Brown/Dana D'Onofrio of Union.  
 
The Burke, Va. Native and the rest of the Thoroughbreds close out the fall schedule at Smith College Oct. 8-10 for the Newitt Tournament.
