POTSDAM, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams lost a pair of tight meets at Clarkson University Saturday afternoon.

The men (1-1) lost 126-112, while the women (1-1) dropped a 121-118 decision.

It was a strong start to the meet with
April Cook winning the 800 Free and
Miles Herman taking the men's 800.Â

Lizzie Day won both the 200 and 100 FreeÂ
Â
Triple winner
Nick Sodi touched out his opponent for the win in the 200 Free and then powered through wins in back-to-back events in the 200 Back and 400 Free. Herman took second in the 400 Free and
Liam Keating won the 200 Breast.

Rachel Olson won both the 200 IM and 200 Breast.
Chloe Kim won the 200 BackÂ

In diving,
Sophia May won both boards, with
Gabby Makower taking second in each as well.
Noah Fryou won the 3m event and finished second on 1m.Â

"Our teams competed well today in two very close meets," said Skidmore coach
Jill Greenleaf. "Clarkson's depth in sprinting proved to be a little too much for our team today, but I expect we'll continue to match up well with them throughout the season."

The teams host Vassar on Nov. 6 at 1 p.m.
