Grosso wins Liberty League Fall Preview

FINAL RESULTS

VERONA, N.Y.—Harry Grosso put together one of the best two rounds of golf in recent program history to win the Liberty League Fall Preview played at the par-72 Turning Stone Shenendoah Course.
 
Playing as an independent, Grosso shot a 4-under-par second round 68 to finish at 5-under 139. He was two in front of Rensselaer's Joey Harrigan who finished with 70-71—141.
 
NYU won the seven-team tournament with 293-289—582, two strokes in front of RPI (291-293—584). Rochester was third (306-294—600) and Skidmore fourth (308-301—609).
 
Grosso totaled 10 birdies for the tournament, five in each round. He birdied three of his final four holes in the second round.
 
Evan Forrest was Skidmore's top finisher in the team scoring, taking eighth with 77-71—148. Kevin McGough tied for 11th with 76-75—151 and John Guerrera tied for 18th with 78-76—154. Sean Hurley tied for 22nd with 77-81—158, one stroke ahead of Cole Vacca in 24th with 80-79—159.
 
Skidmore will close out the fall season by hosting the Saratoga National Invitational Oct. 9-10.
