Field Hockey vs. Cancer

Field Hockey vs. Cancer game Sunday vs. William Smith

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College field hockey team will host its annual Field Hockey vs. Cancer event on Oct. 17 when the Thoroughbreds host Liberty League rival William Smith College at 3 p.m.

Donations will be accepted during the game, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.   We will accept cash, Venmo - SCFHvsCancer and checks made out to American Cancer Society.  We will also be selling T-shirts for a $10 donation.

"Cancer has impacted the lives of so many, including our own extended Skidmore Field Hockey family.  Today we honor Todd Faber and John Oates who have successfully won the battle, we support Wendy Michaels who is persevering right now, and we remember Norma Marshall who recently lost her fight against this dreaded disease.  I encourage everyone to join us in supporting this important cause."  --Beth Hallenbeck, Head Field Hockey Coach

The Thoroughbreds (6-8, 1-3 Liberty League) and the Herons (4-8, 0-4) both need a win to stay alive for a postseason berth. Skidmore leads the all-time series 18-17 with eight of those games decided in overtime.
