ITHACA, N.Y. - The Skidmore College women's soccer team earned a 2-1 road victory at Ithaca College on Friday afternoon.

Lauren Greaves and Isabella Nevin scored for the Thoroughbreds and Ava Keller came up with eight saves including a big save on a penalty kick late in the contest to help Skidmore keep the lead.

With its fourth consecutive win, Skidmore has stretched its unbeaten streak to five. The Thoroughbreds are 7-3-1 and 3-1-1 in the Liberty League to pass Ithaca for second place. The Bombers drop to 3-2 in the conference and 9-3 overall.

Late in the first half, Greaves opened the scoring on a counterattack after Skidmore withstood heavy Ithaca pressure. Paige Karl controlled a long ball into the six-yard box and got it to Greaves despite the Ithaca goalkeeper, Claire Reader, getting a hand on the cross.

Nevin doubled the Thoroughbred lead with a 67th-minute goal on a breakaway.

Ithaca connected in the 81st minute to cut into the deficit when Rosie Bostian's header found Kate Kohler, who directed a header of her own into the net.

Megan O'Reilly's penalty kick was stopped by Keller with just eight minutes remaining in the game. Three of Keller's eight stops came in the final 8:13 of the contest.

Ithaca had an 18-7 edge in shots. The Bombers also had 10 corner kicks while Skidmore had two. Riley Boag had one save.

Skidmore completes the road trip at RIT on Saturday with a 2 p.m. game.
