CLAREMONT, Fla.—The Skidmore College softball team picked up a pair of wins Wednesday in Florida. The Thoroughbreds edges Suffolk 6-4 and downed Potsdam 11-3 in the night cap.

Skidmore is 4-2 to start the season. Suffolk is 2-5 and Potsdam is 1-5. The Thoroughbreds have four games left on their spring trip with North Park and D'Youville College on March 12, followed by Carnegie Mellon and Oswego State on March 13.

SUFFOLK

Skidmore scratched out six runs on five singles, four walks and seven Suffolk errors.
Melissa Mathias was 2-3 with two runs and an RBI. Hanna Davis and
Megan White each had a single and RBI.

Emily Popp improved to 2-1 with five strong innings. She allowed three runs (two earned) with seven hits, no walks, and three strike outs.
Meghan Robertson had a two inning save.

POTSDAM
Â
Skidmore led from start to finish, going up 3-0 after one inning and 6-1 after two, finishing with 11 runs on 11 hits.

Davis and Popp led the Thoroughbreds on the mound and at the plate in game two. Davis was 2-4 with two runs, two RBI and a double. She got the win in 2.2 innings of relief. Popp went 3-4 with two runs. She tossed the first 2.1 innings, allowing one run on one hit with no walks and four strikeouts.

Lindsey Raimondi had a scoreless inning of relief with two strikeouts. Mathias had another multi-hit game, going 2-4 with an RBI and one stolen base.
Delaney Corbet was 2-3 with a 2-run double.
