CANTON, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's basketball team could not find the answers in a 64-53 Liberty League loss at St. Lawrence University Saturday afternoon.

The Thoroughbreds are 2-12 and 0-7 in the Liberty League, while the Saints move to 9-5 and 5-2 in league play.

Clare Driscoll led Skidmore with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Kate McCarney scored 12 points and
Maddie Hastings added seven rebounds.

Ann McCann paced the Saints with 18 points and six rebounds. Katie Frederick added 15 points.

Skidmore came out strong in the first quarter, keeping the score close for the first eight minutes of the game. However, an electric second quarter by the Saints sent Skidmore into the locker room facing a 37-26 deficit.

Despite keeping the scores even in the second half, the Thoroughbreds couldn't get it any closer than eight the rest of the way. Â

Skidmore returns home Jan. 21 to face Liberty League opponent Vassar at 5:30 p.m.
