ITHACA, N.Y. – Despite keeping it close in the first half, the Skidmore College women's basketball team could not hang on after a third quarter surge secured the 60-40 win for Ithaca College.
The Thoroughbreds fall to 2-9, 0-4 in the Liberty League, while the Bombers improve to 6-3 and 3-0.
Skidmore was led by
Jessica Centore who scored 14 points.
Kate McCarney added nine points and three steals.
Maddie Hastings led the team with nine rebounds.
Cassidy O'Malley led the Bombers with 20 points along with pulling down eight rebounds. O'Malley also had three steals and three blocks.
Skidmore kept it close in the first half, going into the locker room trailing 28-22. Despite hanging in with the Bombers, a third quarter surge sent the Bombers past Skidmore to secure the 60-40 victory.
The Thoroughbreds return to Liberty League action Saturday at Rensselaer in a 2 p.m. contest.
