WILLIAMSTOWN,Mass.—Williams College overcame an early 5-2 Skidmore lead on the way to an 11-5 non-league softball win Wednesday evening. The second game was suspended by darkness in the third inning.
Skidmore is 10-10, while the 12
th ranked Ephs are 16-4.
Thoroughbred first year
Megan White tied the program consecutive hit streak at 15 games when she opened the game with a single to right center. She has also
reached base in all 20 Skidmore games this season.
White went on to score the team's first run on a
Karly Fishkin double in the team's two-run first inning.
Williams tied it in the bottom of the first with two runs.
Skidmore scratched out three runs in the second on a walk, hit by pitch, and pick off.
The Ephs then scored four in the third to go back in front and then added four more in the fifth and one in the sixth.
White finished 1-1 with two runs. Fishkin was 1-3 with a run and RBI and
Delaney Corbet was 0-1 with an RBI.
Starter
Emily Popp (4-5) took the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
Skidmore opens Liberty League play at 1 p.m. Saturday at the University of Rochester.
