SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's tennis team shut out yet another Liberty League opponent, taking care of business against William Smith with a 9-0 victory at the Wenger Tennis Courts on a warm but windy Saturday afternoon.
 
Skidmore, ranked 13
th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III rankings, improves to 8-3 overall and 6-0 in league matches. The Thoroughbreds have yet to concede a point in six league matches and extends their win streak against league opponents to 26. William Smith drops to 5-3 and 1-1 in league matches.
 
The Thoroughbreds saw little resistance in the top two doubles spots. 
Risa Fukushige and 
Renee Karchere-Sun, the fourth-ranked doubles tandem in the Northeast Region, defeated Maggie Bonomo and Dina Rigas by an 8-1 score at No. 1, while 
Jessica Ampel and 
Dea Koiava beat Allie Perron and Kate Foley 8-3 at No. 2. 
Audrey SooHoo and 
Lily Feldman battled Katelyn Nguyen and Charlotte Engebrecht at No.3, prevailing by an 8-6 score for the doubles sweep.
 
In singles, SooHoo kept her win streak going with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Leland Barclay at No. 4. She's now a perfect 10-0 in dual matches. Ampel clinched the match for Skidmore with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Nguyen at No. 6. Looking to complete the sweep, Feldman defeated Rigas 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3, Karchere-Sun took down Bonomo 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2, Koiava defeated Perron 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1, and 
Arielle Gal defeated Alex Greenberg 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5.
 
Skidmore will head east for its next two matches, taking on Wellesley next Saturday at 1 p.m. and No. 18 Brandeis on Sunday at 10 a.m.
