PASADENA, Calif. – The 26
th-ranked Skidmore College men's tennis team got back on track with a dominating 8-1 victory at No. 29 Caltech, in dual tennis action at the Caltech Tennis Courts Wednesday afternoon.
 
Skidmore improves to 6-3 on the season and will take on some of the nation's best teams at the Stag-Hen Invitational, beginning on Friday. Caltech falls to 4-2 on the season.
 
The pair of 
JT Wynne and 
Noah Williamson picked up one of their biggest victories of the season at No. 1 doubles, defeating the fourth-ranked doubles duo in the country in Varun Shanker and James Wei, by an 8-6 score. It capped off a Skidmore sweep, as 
Travis Leaf and 
Suraj Mahtani won by an 8-3 score at No. 2, and 
Jason Keye and 
Jack McClaren defeated their opponent at No. 3 by an 8-5 score.
 
The six singles matches were also highly contested, with three of the six matches going to three sets. Wynne recovered from dropping the first set against Shanker at No. 1, defeating Caltech's top player by a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 score. It was a similar story for both Mahtani and 
Connor Biernat. At No. 5, Mahtani defeated Kevin Yu by a 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 score, while Biernat outlasted his opponent at No. 6, defeating Patryk Kozlowski by a 1-6, 6-4, 12-10 score. Leaf and Williamson defeated their opponents in straight sets; Leaf handled Matthew Gonzalgo at No. 3 by a 6-2, 6-3 score, while Williamson defeated Miha Valencic at No. 4 by a 7-5, 6-1 score.
