SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Senior
Haley English scored six points in the final 33 seconds to lead the Skidmore College women's basketball team to a 52-48 Liberty League win over St. Lawrence University in front full house at the Williamson Center.

The Thoroughbreds (9-16, 8-10) secured the sixth and final Liberty playoff spot on Friday night. Skidmore will travel to Vassar College on Feb. 19 for a quarterfinal contest. The third-seeded Brewers dropped their final two game to fall from first to third in the final standings.

Kate McCarney led a group of four Skidmore players in double figures with 14 points off the bench.
Jessica Centore had 11, while English and
Taylor Ong scored 10 each. Centore had a game-high six steals.
Lilly Berg pulled down 10 rebounds and had four.

Katie Frederick topped the Saints with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and two blocks.

The game was tied 46-46 with 33 seconds to play when English swiped the ball from Dylan Watkiss. English quickly scored despite a hard foul. She converted the old fashion three for a 49-46 lead. After a pair of Saint misses, English went to line with eight seconds left and calmly sank both shots for a 51-46. An uncontested SLU layup cut it to 51-48 with :07 left. English hit one of two free throws with :01 left for the 52-48 final.

Skidmore scored 16 points off 23 Saint turnovers. SLU had a 46-38 rebound advantage.
