Thoroughbreds to host Skidmore Sprint Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – In the final tune-up before the upcoming Liberty League Championships in late February, the Skidmore College swimming and diving teams wrap up the regular season with the Skidmore Sprint Invitational on Saturday.

The meet will begin at 1 p.m. at the Williamson Sports Center. Live video of the swimming and diving action will be provided.

Skidmore will host Vassar, Bard, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Delhi, and William Smith in the single day event. Before the meet, the Thoroughbreds will honor seniors Alex Cooperman, Claire Stetten, Hiro Kamei, Owen Kula, Lucas Po, and Harrison Shockley.

Both teams improved record-wise during dual season, which finished last weekend at RPI. The men finished the dual season with a 4-3 record, winning four meets for the second time in three years, while the women finished 3-4, winning three meets for the second time in three years.

Both teams finished second in the last Invitational, held on Jan. 28, 2017.

After Saturday's meet, the Thoroughbreds will have a few weeks to prepare for the Liberty League Championships in Ithaca, Feb. 20-23.
