Decisive sweep for swimming and diving

RESULTS

UTICA, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams had impressive wins this afternoon at Utica College. The women won 195-58, while the men were in front 150-79.
 
Despite winning all of the swimming events, the highlight of the day for the Thoroughbreds was senior Rachel Adamsky's performance on the boards.  Adamsky earned her first college record, breaking the 1 meter 11 dive mark with a score of 378.40. The previous mark of 364.90 was set in 2013 by Kristen Stearns.  The Thoroughbred divers had a strong day with every diver earning a personal best score in the 1 meter 11 dive event.
 
Four women earned victories in two events, including Rachel Olson in the 1000 Free (11:38.36) and 100 Free (58.87), Lizzie Day 200 Fly (2:30.88) and 500 Free (5:47.18), Alyssa Pacewicz 50 Free (27.75) and 200 Breast (2:41.80) and Elizabeth Levy 100 Fly (1:05.73) and 400 IM (5:05.07). Emily Favreau touched first in the 200 Free (2:10.08), while Olivia Czelusniak won the 100 Back (1:11.03) and Meredith Wagner nabbed first in 100 Breast (1:12.78). Abbi Brown earned her first college win in the 200 Back (2:29.42).
 
On the men's side, Brian Borchard was a triple winner, touching first in the 100 Breast (1:09.76), 100 Free (53.64) and 500 Free (5:37.19). Kinser Bonner and Miles Herman eached picked up two wins. Bonner won the 100 Back (59.10) and 200 Back (2:11.32), while Herman dominated the 200 Fly (2:09.81) and 400 IM (4:36.26).  Individual event winners included Kyle Hughson in the 1000 Free (11:12.44), Nick Meconiates in the 50 Free (24.48), Josh Finkelman-Mahoney in the 200 Breast (2:25.97), Ian Hinkle in 200 Free (1:59.43) and Carl Mellqvist in 100 Fly (58.79).
