MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Skidmore College equestrian =team won both horse shows at this weekend's doubleheader hosted by Morrisville State College.  Morrisville was second both days.

On Saturday, the Thoroughbreds got off to a strong start with Emily Gilbert '23 leading the way in Open Fences.  The riders brought in solid results in the rest of the jumping classes, with Annika Smith '21 bringing another win for the Thoroughbreds in Limit Fences.

The afternoon started off with Mara Chemerinksy bringing in a win in Open Flat.  Strong rides followed in the Intermediate, Limit, and Novice Flat sections, with Sloan Jacoby '22 winning her section of Limit Flat.  Introductory rider Gimo Zeng '20 made her IHSA debut with a 2^nd place.

Sunday got off to a similar start, with Gilbert repeating her win in Open Fences.  Carly Stirewalt '21 brought the riders a win in Intermediate Fences, and Laurel Gaddis '22 won her section of Limit Fences.  In the flat portion of the day, Chemerinksy repeated her win in Open Flat, followed by wins for Gaddis and Sydney Jasny '23 (both in Limit flat) and Amity Wilson '22 (Pre-Novice).  Gaddis also won a competitive ride-off to come away with the High Point Rider title.

The Thoroughbreds host the next show at home on November 23^rd.
