TROY, N.Y.—A late second half goal held up and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's soccer team posted 1-0 victory over Skidmore College Saturday afternoon at East Campus Stadium.
With the loss the Thoroughbreds drop to 6-3-2 (1-3-0 Liberty League) and the Engineers improve to 5-4-2 overall (2-2-0 Liberty League).
Following a scoreless first half in which RPI outshot Skidmore, 7-2, the Engineers continued their attacking play in the second.

Ava Keller made a tough 1-on-1 save in the 48
th minute to keep the game scoreless.
Five minutes later, an RPI attacker beat a Skidmore defender to a ball at the edge of the penalty area and dribbled towards goal, before firing a shot near post that was also kept out by Keller.
RPI broke through in the 58th minute, when Meagan Lettko leaped to get her head to a corner kick. Keller got a piece of her initial shot, but Lettko made sure by smashing home the rebound inside the six.
Keller (5-3-2) had five stops at the other end of the field. RPI finished with a 16-3 shot advantage, including 6-1 on goal.
Skidmore visits RIT and Ithaca next weekend.
