SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Union held Skidmore to eight fourth quarter points to break open a tight game and secure a 58-46 Liberty League win Friday evening at the Williamson Center.

The Thoroughbreds are 5-13 overall and 4-7 in league play, while the Dutchwomen improve to 11-4 and 6-3.

Lilly Berg topped Skidmore in scoring with 10 points to go along with six rebounds.
Kate McCarney scored eight points and had two assists off the bench.
Taylor Ong pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds and had a pair of blocks.

Nicole Conley led Union with 14 points and six rebounds. Anna Metcalf chipped in 11 points and six boards.

The game featured seven lead changes and eight ties over the first three quarters.

Neither team could forge more than a two possession lead in the first half. Â

Jessica Centore gave Skidmore a 22-20 lead with 3:30 to play in the half. Union responded by scoring the final six points of the quarter to move ahead 26-22 at the break.

The Thoroughbreds kept it tight in the third quarter behind some clutch shooting, including
Caroline Merguerian's deep three-pointer with 2:22 left to make the score 39-38 Union. The Dutchwomen responded with the final five points of third, including a long three from Joana Santos to leave it 44-38.

Union opened the fourth with an 8-2 run and a 52-40 lead that Skidmore couldn't overcome.

The Thoroughbreds are home again on Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest with Rensselaer. The Dutchwomen head to Ithaca for a 2 p.m. game.
