Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Skidmore earns 1-1 draw at Hobart

GENEVA, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's soccer team stretched its unbeaten streak to seven, thanks to a 1-1 draw against defending Liberty League champion Hobart, in league action at Cozzens Field Saturday afternoon.

After two league matches, Skidmore is atop the Liberty League standings with a 1-0-1 record and four points. The Thoroughbreds improve to 4-1-3 overall. Hobart is 1-4-2 overall and is 0-0-1 after its first league contest.

The goals came early for both teams. Skidmore led things off in the 17th minute, when junior Ted Roach rose for a header off a long Ben Caples throw into the penalty box. Hobart knotted things up in the 34th minute, when a foul in the box set up a penalty shot opportunity and conversion for Hobart's Binjo Emmanuel. The Hobart goal snapped a 325-minute scoreless streak for junior goalie Sebastian Bosch and the Skidmore defense.

Skidmore would outshoot Hobart in the second half and overtime by a 15-10 margin, but were unable to get the game-winner.

Bosch and Hobart goalie Alec Kaminer each made nine saves in 110 minutes to earn the draw.

Skidmore finishes the road trip next Saturday, heading to RPI at 2 p.m.
