SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – For the third game in a row, the Skidmore College women's soccer team will face a ranked opponent this weekend, as No. 5 William Smith comes to Saratoga Springs for the Liberty League opener, on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Wachenheim Field.

Skidmore comes into the weekend with a 3-2 record. The Thoroughbreds outscored opponents 7-2 in its 3-0 start, before dropping contests against top-ranked Williams and then-14
th ranked Plattsburgh State. In the Plattsburgh State contest last Saturday, Skidmore held a commanding 23-4 shot advantage, but fell by a 2-1 score.
Sophomore
Yasmine Boukari leads the team in scoring with 10 points on four goals and two assists. In five games, the sophomore has equaled her scoring output from last season. Freshmen
Carly Craft and
Vanessa Eljaiek, as well as seniors
Emma Basso and
Courtney Shaw each have contributed a goal.
In goal, the rookie pair of
Vivian Montgomery-Walsh and
Ava Keller have split time in goal. Keller has a 1.50 goals against average with a .571 save percentage, while Montgomery-Walsh holds a 1.31 goals against average and a .667 save percentage.
William Smith comes into the weekend with a 4-2 record, having completed non-league play for the 2018 regular season. The Herons, 11-time defending Liberty League champions, are on a rare two-game losing streak, having dropped 2-1 decisions to Rochester and No. 24 Misericordia.
Leading the Herons is Megan Barwick with eight points on three goals and two assists. Julia Keogh is second with seven points on three goals and one assist. 10 Herons have tallied at least one point in the season. In goal, first-year Amanda Kesler has been solid in net, sporting a 0.69 goals against average and a .692 save percentage in six starts.
