KISSIMEE, Fla.—The Skidmore College softball team scored 11 runs on 12 hits to post an 11-4 win over Beloit College in the team's second game on Monday. The Thoroughbreds lost 16-9 in nine innings to Susquehanna University in the first game.

Skidmore (1-3) will have a day off, before taking on Wheaton College and Salve Regina on Wednesday.

The Thoroughbreds scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to erase an 8-5 deficit against Susquehanna.
Jill Strileckis had her second home run of the game, a solo shot to start the rally, while
Maddie Nelson and
Lizette Roman-Johnston each had RBI doubles to force extra innings.

After Susquehanna scored one in the top of the eighth, Skidmore tied it on a
Kristina Foley RBI double in its half of the inning. The Thoroughbreds had the bases loaded with one out, but couldn't push the winner across. The River Hawks sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring seven runs in the top of the 10th to claim the win.

Roman-Johnston was 3-6 with a run and an RBI. Nelson, Foley, and
Emily Popp had a single and double each.

Against Beloit (1-6), Skidmore got off to a quick start with five runs in the top of the first. Popp had an RBI double and rookie catcher
Drew Bugna drilled a bases loaded triple to left field. Beloit responded with three in the bottom of the first to cut it to 5-3.

The teams traded runs in the third, with Bunga picking up her fourth RBI of the game with a single up the middle. Skidmore pulled away with three in the fourth to go up 9-4. Popp did some damage with a two-run single, followed by an RBI single from
Adrianna Garcia.

The Thoroughbreds added single runs in the fifth and sixth for the 11-4 final.

Bunga finished 3-4 with a run and four RBI. Roman-Johnston was 2-5 with two runs, while Popp ended the game 2-5 with a run and three RBI.

Nicole Rosner earned her first win of the season with six innings of solid relief. She allowed one run on three hits, with eight strikeouts. She walked five.
