CANTON, N.Y.— St. Lawrence scored 51 seconds into the second half to give the fourth-seeded Saints all the scoring they would need in a 1-0 win over fifth seed Skidmore College in a Liberty League women's soccer quarterfinal Tuesday afternoon.

The Thoroughbreds end the season at 8-7, while SLU will take a 10-2-4 record into Saturday's semifinal at William Smith College.

After a scoreless first half, Megan Gannon scored her second goal of the season on a rebound off a long-range shot that hit the crossbar.

The Thoroughbreds proved resilient, outshooting the Saints 14-7 in the second half, but Skidmore was unable to put one away. Yasmine Boukari led Skidmore with four shots on goal.

St. Lawrence edged Skidmore in shots, 19-18, but the Thoroughbreds held a 7-5 shots on goal advantage.

Ava Keller recorded four saves for Skidmore. Saints' goalkeeper Samantha Allen posted her ninth shutout of the season and finished with seven saves, including two in the final three minutes.
