SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College field hockey team knows it needs to win its final two league games this weekend to have a shot at the playoffs.

The Thoroughbreds (6-9, 1-4 Liberty) host Union College (5-8, 1-5) in a Celebration Weekend contest on Friday at 4 p.m. The team closes out its league schedule at Ithaca College (9-5, 2-3) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Skidmore has 24 straight games against the Dutchwomen, going back to the 1997 season. The Thoroughbreds won 3-0 in 2017.

Gabby Hyman leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and three assists for 27 points. First year
Mariah Redler is next with six goals and two assists for 14 points. All-American defender
Marissa Folts has three goals and seven assists for 13 points. She has a team-high four defensive saves.

Elizabeth Coughlin has been steady in the cage with a 2.18 goals against average and 94 saves in 15 starts.

After wrapping Liberty League play this weekend, the Thoroughbreds will close out the regular season at home on Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. vs. Cortland.
