SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— A late first half goal held up for 1-0 Ithaca College win over Skidmore College in Liberty League women's soccer Friday afternoon at Wachenheim field.

The loss snaps a three-game win streak for the Thoroughbreds who are 6-4 and 3-2 in Liberty League play. The Bombers are alone in second place with a 10-1-2 overall and 4-1 league mark.

After a scoreless first 44 minutes, Ithaca took advantage of chaos in front of the Skidmore net after a corner kick. Megan O'Reilly collected a loose ball in front and scored her first goal of the season at 44:05.

The Thoroughbreds battled back in the second half, but the Bomber defense held behind goalie Sara Jakobsze who had 10 saves, including eight in the final 45:00.

Skidmore had a 16-12 shot and 4-3 corner advantage. Avi Keller had four saves for the Thoroughbreds.

The league weekend continues with the final home game of the regular season at 2 p.m. Saturday when Skidmore hosts RIT.
