CANTON, N.Y.—
Emily Popp led the Skidmore College softball team from the circle and the plate in a 6-4 Liberty League win over St. Lawrence University in the nightcap of a league doubleheader.  The Saints won the first game 6-2.

The Thoroughbreds are 13-19 overall and 3-5 in league play. The Saints are 16-8 and 4-4.

In the first game, Skidmore spotted SLU six runs before
Lauren Fortunato doubled and scored on an
Kristina Foley sacrifice fly. Fortunato drilled a solo home run in the seventh for the 6-2 final.

Amanda Carilli (9-10) took the loss. She allowed six runs on nine hits with three walks and one strikeout.

In the second game, Skidmore led 6-0 after two innings and held on for the 6-4 win.
Karly Fishkin was 1-3 with a two-run double in the second.
Lizette Roman-Johnston was 2-4 with two runs.
Emily Popp and
Jill Strileckis had two hits and an RBI each, while Fortunato was 1-2 with a triple and an RBI.

Popp (4-9) got the win and Carilli earned the save with three scoreless innings of no-hit relief.
