MEET RESULTS
UTICA, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams dominated in the pool on Saturday, pulling ahead to impressive victories at the Utica College Pool. The women won by a 174-51 score and the men picked up the 135-81 victory.
Both Thoroughbred squads improve to 2-3 after five dual meets on the season. Utica's men fell to 5-4 on the season, while the women drop to .500 at 5-5.
The women were tremendous, winning 12 of 13 events in the team victory. The 200 Medley Relay team began the meet with a win, with the team of
Jazmin Rendon,
Alyssa Pacewicz,
Maddie Collins and
Meredith Wagner swimming in 2:03.23. The 200 Free Relay team of
Olivia Frechette,
Elizabeth Levy,
Emily Favreau and
Olivia Czelusniak wrapped the meet with a dominating swim, winning in 1:47.88.
In between, Rendon and Levy won a pair of events, with Rendon taking the 50 Free (28.08) and 200 Back (2:25.18), and Levy touching first in the 400 IM (4:57.69) and 200 Fly (2:22.23).
Other victories included Frechette, who won the 1,000 Free, improving her season best time by 11 seconds to go 11:34.37. Wagner won the 200 Breast with a solid time of 2:40.13. Czelusniak took first in the 200 Free (2:06.34), and Favreau capped the winning swimmers with a victory in the 500 Free (5:41.33).
On the boards,
Hannah Krall and
Rachel Adamsky each won one round of the 1-meter dive. Krall took voluntaries (128.60) while Adamsky won optionals (151.05).
The men were led by
Hiro Kamei, who set a Utica College pool record in the 200 Breast, swimming in a time of 2:19.39.
Harrison Shockley and
Lucas Po were double winners, with Shockley winning the 200 Back (2:09.34) and 50 Free (24.12) and Po touching first in the 200 Free (1:54.49) and 500 Free (5:12.89).
Ben Rudman and Jason Hansen also picked up victories, with Rudman leading the field in the 1,000 Free (11:19.89) and Hansen winning the 200 Fly (2:24.04). The men's 200 Medley Relay team of Shockley, Kamei,
Kinser Bonner and Rudman also picked up a victory, winning in (1:46.12).
The Thoroughbreds will take a Thanksgiving holiday break, returning to action on Friday, Dec. 1, as the teams head to RIT for the Don Richards Invitational.
