Emily Mendes scored two goals to lead the Skidmore College women's soccer team to a 2-0 Liberty League win over Bard College Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field.

The Thoroughbreds end the season with a 4-10-2 overall and 1-6-2 Liberty League record, while the Raptors finish 8-9 and 1-8.

Skidmore struck first when Mendes collected a cross from
Courtney Shaw and buried it from 15 yards out at 11:19. It was the third goal of the season for Mendes.

Bard had a chance off a corner in the 43
rd minute, but Skidmore keeper
Alyssa Rollins made the initial save and a Thoroughbred defender stopped a shot on the goal line.

The Thoroughbreds pressured the Raptors late with Mendes scoring her second goal off a header from a Shaw corner at 84:39.

It was the second shutout of the season for the Skidmore defense that held Bard to 10 shots, four on net. The Thoroughbreds had 25 shots and owned a 10-6 corner advantage.

Rollins had four saves in her final collegiate start for the Thoroughbreds, while Tessa Greenhalgh had eight stops for Bard.
