SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's soccer team looks to jump back in the Liberty League race at a crucial time, heading to Western New York for a pair of contests against Ithaca and RIT. The Thoroughbreds visit Ithaca for the first league contest between the teams on Friday, and end the trip with a contest against RIT on Saturday.

The Thoroughbreds are three points away from the final league playoff spot, with five contests to go. Last time out, Skidmore suffered a 3-0 loss to Vassar last Saturday at Wachenheim Field. Emma Basso leads the Thoroughbreds in scoring, tallying four goals. Rookie Yasmine Boukari is second on the team with a pair of goals. Courtney Shaw leads the team in assists with three. In net, Alyssa Rollins has played every minute for the Thoroughbreds this season, sporting a 2.54 goals against average and a .683 save percentage.

SCOUTING ITHACA

Ithaca, in its first season as a member of the Liberty League, is currently 3-8 overall and 0-4 in league action. Last week, the Bombers fell to Bard on the road, 1-0. Shoshana Bedrosian leads Ithaca with five goals scored and one assist for 11 points. Alex Epifani leads the Bombers with three assists. In goal, Stacey DiGiorgio sports a 1.45 goals against average and a .766 save percentage in 10 appearances.

Head Coach Lacey Largeteau will face her alma mater for the first time as a head coach. Largeteau played for the Bombers from 2001-2004, also spending a season as a volunteer coach. The last time these two teams met was back in 2009. Former Thoroughbred midfielder (and current Clarkson head coach) Kelsey Yam tallied a second-half goal and goalie Megan Sleezer racked up 19 saves in a 1-1 tie against then-No. 22 Ithaca at Carp Wood Field.

SCOUTING RIT

RIT comes into the weekend sporting a 7-3-1 record, and sits three points ahead of Skidmore with a 1-2-1 record in league action. The Tigers will host RPI on Friday before Skidmore comes to town Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers snapped a two-game losing skid with a victory against St. Lawrence in their last contest. Mia White and Riley Yankowich share the team lead with four goals apiece. Emily Thiel is one of the league leaders with seven assists. Kelly Rogers is the full-time goalie for the Tigers, posting a 0.63 goals against average and a .833 save percentage in nearly 1,000 minutes played.

The last few contests between these two teams have been one-goal affairs. Last season, a second half goal was enough as RIT won 1-0 at Wachenheim Field, despite Skidmore outshooting the Tigers 9-4. The last three games in the series between the two teams have been 1-0 games, with RIT winning all three. Skidmore's last victory against RIT in Rochester was in 2013, a 2-1 victory thanks to a pair of Christine Bellotti goals.
