SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— The Skidmore College softball team lost 4-0 and 9-1 to Williams College Wednesday at Wagner Park.

The Thoroughbreds are 9-17, while the Ephs improve to 20-6. Skidmore travels to the University of Rochester for a Liberty League doubleheader on Saturday.

GAME 1
The Thoroughbreds ran into a tough pitching performance by Williams rookie Mackenzie Murphy (7-2). She tossed a complete game three-hit shutout with two walks and seven strikeouts. Kacey Cramer had a solo home run in the second for the Ephs, who also scored three runs (one earned) in the fourth.

Cassie Fishkin,
Kristina Foley, and
Casey Attonito were each 1-3 for the Thoroughbreds.
Amanda Carilli (7-9) went the distance on the mound, allowing two earned runs on eight hits, with no walks and a strikeout.

GAME 2
Williams ripped four home runs, including three in an eight-run third inning. Â

Skidmore got its run in the third when
Jill Strileckis singled and advanced on an outfield error. She later scored on an
Dani DeGregory fielders choice.
Emily Mangan and
Lauren Fortunato had the other two Thoroughbred hits.
