SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College field hockey team will look to keep rolling when it heads to No. 4 Middlebury on Wednesday.

The Thoroughbreds are coming off a 2-0 weekend that saw them outscore their opponents 18-1. Senior forward Dani DeGregory led the team with 19 (8G, 3A) points in the two wins, including a program-record 11 points (5G, 1A) against Stockton. Freshman forward Gabby Hyman had the best showing of her collegiate career in Sunday's 8-0 win against Utica, netting her first collegiate hat trick. Freshman goalkeeper Elizabeth Coughlin made a career-high five saves against the Pioneers, earning her first shutout.

Skidmore ranks second in the Liberty League in goals per game (4.3) and third with a 1.14 goals against average.

SCOUTING MIDDLEBURY
A late penalty stroke lifted undefeated #2 Bowdoin to a 2-1 win over Middlebury on Saturday.  Sophomore forward Annie Leonard scored in the 60th minute to knot the score at 1-1, but the nation's most prolific scorer Rachel Kennedy converted on a penalty stroke in the 67th minute to seal the win. Junior goalkeeper Emily Miller made a season-high 10 saves in the loss.

Junior forward Pam Schulman has paced the Middlebury offense, leading the team with five goals and 12 points. Leonard is second on the team with four goals and nine points, while sophomore defender Caroline Knapp has produced a team-best four assists.

Middlebury is second in the NESCAC in goals per game (3.8) and goals against average (1.00). The Panthers have featured one of the stingiest defenses over the last two seasons, conceding more than one goal only three times in their last 26 contests. Middlebury has also taken advantage of its home field, going 19-2 at home over the last three seasons, with one of the two losses coming at the hands of Skidmore in the 2013 NCAA quarterfinal.
