ROCHESTER, N.Y.— Union College advanced in the Liberty League softball tournament with a 2-0 elimination game win over Skidmore College Friday afternoon at the University of Rochester.

The Thoroughbreds finish the season with a 14-22 record. The Dutchwomen (14-19) will play Rensselaer in another elimination game later Friday.  Rochester advanced to the championship game with an earlier win over Rensselaer.

Amanda Carilli worked out of trouble in the first and second innings with Union leaving the bases loaded twice.

Union broke through in the fifth, scoring its two runs with two outs.

Carilli allowed two runs on 10 hits, walked two and struck out four.Â
Lauren Fortunato had a single and a great defense catch in center field in the sixth inning to keep the deficit at two.
