CANTON, N.Y.—St. Lawrence University used a pair of second half goals to down Skidmore 3-1 in an evenly played Liberty League men's soccer championship match, Saturday afternoon at Sandy MacAllaster Field.

The Thoroughbreds end their season at 11-6-1, while the Saints move to 14-3-2 after winning their third straight conference championship. Â

The early physical play boiled over with a pair of red cards at 21:40. The teams played 10 vs. 10 for the final 76:20. Â

St. Lawrence struck first when Noah Bunton converted a penalty at 26:25 after a Skidmore handball in the box. Â The Thoroughbreds tied it when
Mike Park's corner kick found the head of
Kevin Santos who found the net far post at 39:02. It was the sixth goal of the year for Santos.

The Saints worked a 3-on-2 break into a 2-1 lead at 50:03. Tournament MVP Ryan Grant scored his seventh of the season from Ryan Roche.

Skidmore had an opportunity to tie it on consecutive corners with 13:00 to play, but both chances were punched away by SLU keeper Ryan Roethel.

St. Lawrence tacked on an insurance goal at 83:25 when Grant got in alone for his second goal of the game off a well-placed pass from Austin Dilts.

Skidmore had a 14-10 shot and 6-4 corner advantage.

Eli Kisselbach had three saves for the Thoroughbreds, while Roethel had four saves for the Saints.
