SCHENECTADY, NY -- The Skidmore College men's soccer team will return to the Liberty League tournament after a 1-0 road win over Union College on Saturday.
The Thoroughbreds move to 10-5-1 overall and 5-3 in the Liberty League. Skidmore finishes third in the league and will travel to Hobart on Tuesday for a semifinal contest. The Dutchmen (10-3-4 and 3-2-3) finish fourth and will travel to top seed St. Lawrence in the other semifinal.
Todd Jensen provided the lone scoring with a penalty kick at 6:02, as his drive went to the left of the keeper.
Skidmore had a slim 12-10 shot advantage and Union had four corners to the Thoroughbreds' one. John Weitzman made seven saves for Union while
Eli Kisselbach stopped four for Skidmore. It was the eighth shutout of the season for Kisselbach.
