SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The ninth-ranked Skidmore College field hockey team welcomes Oneonta on Wednesday for a non-conference contest.
 
Seventh-ranked William Smith scored two second-half goals to secure a 2-1 win over the Thoroughbreds on Sunday. Seeley Fancher scored her second goal of the season and Krista Lamoreaux dished out her eighth assist. Sophomore goalkeeper Zoe McGuire turned away 11 shots in the loss.
 
Skidmore is 7-3 in non-league games this season and has outscored non-conference opponents 39-12. The Thoroughbreds are 6-1 at home and are averaging 6.71 goals per game at Wagner Park.
 
Skidmore finished third in the Liberty League standings and will travel to second-seeded Rochester Wednesday, Nov. 4 for the conference semifinal.
 
SCOUTING ONEONTA
Oneonta fell 4-3 at Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, going to 5-10 on the season. Allyson Wells scored two second-half goals in the loss.
 
The Red Dragons are 2-7 in non-league games and 2-6 on the road this season. Oneonta, which is 1-4 in its last five games, is averaging 2.00 goals per game and has a team goals against average of 2.33.
 
Wells, who leads the squad with 11 goals and 24 points, has 11 points (6 G, 1 A) in her last three games. Senior forward Hannah Hayward has registered a team-high four assists and ranks second with five goals and 14 points. Krista Servedio has started all 15 games in goal and has a 2.40 goals against average and a .766 save percentage.
