SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The 10th-ranked Skidmore College field hockey team welcomes Vassar on Saturday with vital Liberty Leauge points on the line.

Saturday's game is Skidmore's annual "Thoroughbreds vs. Cancer" event. Donations will be accepted during the game and t-shirts will be sold with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

The Thoroughbreds notched their third consecutive Liberty League shutout on Thurday, rolling to an 8-0 win against St. Lawrence. The win was the 300
th for Skidmore head coach
Beth Hallenbeck, who became the 16
th coach in Division III history to reach the mark. Six different players scored for Skidmore in the win. Senior forward
Dani DeGregory scored a hat trick and added two assists for her third game with eight or more points this season.

Skidmore, which has won 28 straight Liberty League home games, is sixth in Division III in scoring average (4.42 goals/gm), ninth in points per game (11.50), 10th in assists per game (2.67) and tied for 15th in goals against average (0.92).

SCOUTING VASSAR
Vassar suffered its first Liberty League loss of the season on Monday, falling 1-0 to Rochester. The Brewers have been shutout in each of their three losses this season and all three defeats have come on the road.

Vassar is averaging 2.7 goals per game tied for 15th in the country with a 0.92 goals against average. The Brewers have outshot their opponents 218-78 and outscored the opposition 33-11, including a 19-5 edge in the second half.

Forward Megan Caveny has made a major impact in her rookie season, leading the team with six goals and 16 points to go along with four assists. Senior Lauren Wiebe is tied for the team-high with four assists, while her five goals and 14 points place her second. Freshman goalkeeper Paige Amico is second in the league with a .92 goals against average and fifth a .761 save percentage.
