Box Score CANTON, N.Y. -- Mackenzie Collins tallied in the 61st minute to lift St. Lawrence to a 1-0 win against the Skidmore College women's soccer team on a cold and rainy day, Saturday afternoon at Sandy MacAllaster Field.
The Thoroughbreds go to 5-7-2 overall and and 2-3-2 in the conference, while the Saints move to 10-5-1 on the seasonand 3-3-1 in the league.
After a scoreless first half in which the Thoroughbreds and Saints traded off holding possession for an extended period of time, Collins gave St. Lawrence the only lead it would need, taking a feed from Amy Reunert and bending a strike inside the far post.
Skidmore goalkeeper
Deirdre Walsh made three saves, while Kelsey West stopped three shots in goal for the Saints. St. Lawrence outshot Skidmore 11-8 and had a 9-3 edge in corners.
The Thoroughbreds close out Liberty League play with a home game against RPI at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29.
